About the Director
Victoria Mills is an awarding winner documentary filmmaker as well as full-time practicing psychoanalyst. Her latest film Hidden Battles, a feature-length documentary about the psychological effects of killing on soldiers from around the world, screened in eleven festivals nationally and internationally, has had over forty grassroots screenings, and will be broadcast internationally. Hidden Battles is available for educational use through Filmakers Library and for home use on the website. Prior to that, Mills’ documentary Mothers and Daughters: Mirrors that Bind travelled the festival circuit and was screened in universities and women’s organizations across the country. The film is available for purchase on our website.
In addition to her filmmaking, she leads workshops with universities, national women's organizations, and grass-roots community groups for her films. As an analyst with over twenty seven years experience, Victoria has worked extensively with adolescents, people of diverse cultures, and those who have experienced trauma, including those who suffered from the disaster of 9/11. She is also is a training analyst, on the faculty of National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis, a member of the International Psychoanalytic Association, IPTAR and supervises graduate and PhD students at several universities.
